Tara Yarlagadda is a freelance writer and multimedia storyteller based in Los Angeles. Most recently, she has written on art, culture and other issues for New York Magazine’s Bedford + Bowery. She also previously worked as a fact-checker for The New York Times.
Her beats include culture, film/TV, human rights, media, food, travel, and books. Tara’s work has been published in sites like The New York Times 360, PBS NewsHour, Paste, HowStuffWorks and The New Food Economy. She is also an avid photographer, aspiring screenwriter and budding novelist during her off-hours. She’s interned for screenwriting company Shore Scripts and now works as a script reader.
Prior to working as a writer, Tara received an M.A in Literary Reportage from New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute and a B.A in Political Science/South & Southeast Asian Studies from University of California – Berkeley.
